Office Manager (East End Health Center)

Reports to Medical Administrator

Supervise administrative staff and all day-to-day office functions, including front desk, accounting insurance processing, appointment setting, procedure scheduling, medical records and more. Maintain a smooth, efficient flow of administrative operations, ensuring that patients are served as efficiently and effectively as possible. Recruit, screen, and hire and train administrative employees. Ensure patients inquiries and complaints are handled in an appropriate timely and satisfactory manner.

Knowledge, Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • Medical Assistant Preferred
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Three or more year's previous medical office administrative experience.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet program and ability knowledge of ICD-10 codes and billing procedures.

    Physical Demands:

  • Visual acuity
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively by telephone.
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk throughout shift as needed to oversee operations.

  • Dentist

    Reports to Dental Director and supervises Dental Assistants, and Dental Hygienist


  • Graduation from an accredited school of dentistry with either a D.M.D or D.D.S degree.
  • Censed to practice within Pennsylvania, with experience in private practice.
  • Must be registered with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to allow dispensing controlled substances.
  • Physical Demands:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
  • Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision, hearing and speech to normal range.
  • Responsibilities Diagnoses and treats diseases injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums, and related oral structures. Examines patient to determine nature OD condition, utilizing x-rays, mouth mirrors, explorers, and other diagnostic procedures and instruments. Cleans, fills extracts, and replaces teeth using rotary and hand instruments, dental appliances medications, and surgical implements. Demonstrates proficiency in examination, diagnosis, and treatment, of oral pathological in examination.

    Pharmacy Technician

    The purpose of the pharmacy technician is to assist the pharmacist with the day-to-day activities in the pharmacy.


  • MUST HAVE National certification (CPHT)
  • Understanding of medical terminology and calculations
  • Knowledge of medication brand & generic names
  • Knowledge of insurance and third-party payment systems
  • High School diploma or graduate equivalent degree
  • Responsibilities:

  • Help patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders
  • Enter prescription orders into the computer
  • Create and update patient's health and insurance information in the computer
  • Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims
  • At point of sale, verify that customer receives correct prescription(s)
  • Prepare the pharmacy inventory

  • Nurse Managers

    The Nurse Manager is responsible to direct and coordinates team activity toward patient centered care. Supervises, assigns, and coordinates actvities of nursing and medical assistant personnel in the designated health center (satellite) to ensure patient needs and quality of care are met in accordance with instruction of physician administrative policies and procedures. This position supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, Receptionist and Maintenance.


  • Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Currently licensed to practice nursing within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Supervisory experience desirable
  • Requirements:

  • Ensures appearance, behavior, and communication promote good guest relations
  • Interacts with various departments, facilities and technical labs on a daily basis
  • Prepares, administers, and records medications and treatments as ordered by the physician under the supervision of the Nurse Manager

  • Dentist Assistants

    The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting dentist(s) by engaging routinely procedures during examinations and treatment of patients. The Dental Assistant reports to Dental Director and Staff Dentist. This position performs technical supportive functions including preparing and dismissing patients; sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment; providing post-operative instructions prescribed by dentist(s). Assists dentist(s) in management of medical and dental emergencies. Demonstrates good guest relations, oral communication, and human relation skills when interacting with patients and their families. Provides oral hygiene instruction, such as conducing plaque control program.

    Qualifications: MUST BE Certified Radiologic Technician

    Requirements: Performs basic business office procedures, includes maintaining appointment control, answering telephone properly, reassuring patients, participates in departmental meetings, and professional development activities. Able to work within a multi-disciplinary team approach for the benefit of the organization.

    Finance Director

    The Finance Director is the chief financial officer of the Center. Consistent with community health center requirements, s/he is responsible for directing the Center's financial planning and accounting operations as well as establishing and maintaining the its relationship with lending institutions and the financial community. The Finance Director works closely with all department leaders and key program managers and reports regularly to the Executive Director and to the Board of Directors.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with emphasis on accounting
  • Five (5) years financial experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years healthcare experience and two (2) years in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience administering grants
  • Experience in mainframe accounting systems and PC based systems
  • (Preferred)

  • Master's Degrees in Finance or the equivalent
  • Certifications as Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Requirements: Leadership and managerial skills, grants management skills, computer skills with Microsoft Windows and Office Professional (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), including knowledge of computer technology in a health care setting, willingness to travel. (Preferred) Broad-based knowledge of the scope of financial operations of a community health care system, knowledge of management information systems and managed care systems, knowledge of  non-profit accounting methods and regulations.

    Meaningful Use and EMR Manager

    The Meaningful Use/EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Manager is an essential part of the medical and administrative operations to PCHS. This position involves coordination of activities related to the implementation of the Centers for Medicare ans Medicaid Services (CMS and State of PA) and State of PA EHR (Electronic Health Records) Incentive Payment Program for the entire organization. Essential EMR tasks include, ePrescribe management and Secure Messaging Management.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Services Administration or related field
  • Health Center experience
  • Experience using tracking and reporting systems
  • One-Two (1-2) years of experience in a health care delivery or profession setting
  • Requirements: Establish and maintain structured processes (including software programs and tools) to complete registration, attestation and payment information for each eligible provider. Meet with providers, managers, clinical staff to help achieve program goals. Work in collaboration with management to monitor Provider compliance and facilitate resolution of barriers of successful completion of attestations.

    Drug & Alcohol Specialist (Health Care for the Homeless)

    We are looking for a Drug & Alcohol Specialist who reports to the Director, Health Care for the homeless that work autonomously, manage time and workload efficiently.


  • Addiction Counselor Certification in Pennsylvania required (AAC1 or AAC2) with experience working in a treatment setting with individuals who are addicted and those with co-occurring D&A and mental health diagnoses.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Requirements: Provides assessment, engagement, individual counseling, group therapy/support, referral to higher level of specialized services at various clinics throughout the Health Care for the Homeless Program (HCH) Network. Performs other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor. Maintains knowledge of organizational policies. Maintains client/patient confidentiality and ensures quality of services to all clients.

    Social Worker (Health Care for the Homeless)

    We are looking for a Social Worker who reports to the Director, Health Care for the homeless that work autonomously, manage time and workload efficiently. Strong communication skills, ability to interface professionally, competently and compassionately with segments of society.


  • Bachelors Degree in Social Work required

    Requirements: Provides social services and case management services to individuals at various clinics. Maintains daily activity log that includes basic demographic information and referrals. Assists patients with applying for entitlements including Medicaid and disability (when applicable). Performs other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.

  • Nurse Practitioners

    We are looking for a professional Nurse Practitioner who can deliver primary medical care to a wide variety of patients. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for caring for patients, maintaining accurate and current patient records and scheduling and administering follow-up appointments to patients as required.


  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner License
  • Requirements: Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, serve as the resource patients need for ongoing care information, counseling and provide guidance for any patients with critical conditions, must be familiar with the EHR medical charting system.

    Medical Assistant (MA)

    Assist in the operation of the medical services during assigned clinic sessions. Within the framework of the organization’s philosophy and objectives and under the direction of the nurse manager, the Medical Assistant assists the nursing team in performing routine nursing duties associated with caring for the ambulatory patient.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant Training program
  • Requirements: Requires excellent interpersonal, telephone, and communication skills. Be able to work on other units and at other health centers throughout the Primary Care Health Services network.
