Helping individuals and families throughout Allegheny County progress from homelessness to self-sufficiency, PCHS Supportive Housing Network provides an average of 275 homeless adults and children with housing each year. This Network includes:
New Beginnings 30 day emergency shelter, Homewood
Unique in its commitment to 24 hour intake, New Beginnings ensures that no matter what hour of the day or night, women and their children have a safe place to reside. |
Open Arms transitional shelter, Homewood
Containing nine one, two, and three bedroom apartments and a computer learning center, women and their children may stay up to two years at Open Arms in order to address the factors contributing to their homelessness. |
Sankofa permanent shelter, Homewood
Serving a population most at risk for chronic homelessness, Sankofa houses women with long term disabilities and their children. Containing 12 one, two, and three bedroom apartments, residents of Sankofa may stay indefinitely while taking advantage of self-enhancement conveniences such as a hair salon. |
Penn-Free and Bridge
Providing help paying rent and utilities to individuals and families in need of short-term financial support, these programs assist households throughout Allegheny County. |
